Consumer & Peer support Professional Group Meeting
How Do We Educate to Support? Training, Tools and Resilience for Peer Mentors and Rehab Coaches in SCI Rehabilitation.
The NoSCoS Consumer Group invites you to explore and compare how peers in different international contexts are trained and supported to succeed in their roles. You will meet representatives from Sweden, Norway, and other countries.
Objectives:
- To explore tools, knowledge, and support systems that help peers manage their role and boundaries.
- To understand how different contexts (resources, culture, health systems) influence peer preparation.
- To create strong networks and to exchange experiences.
Nurses Professional Group Meeting
Presentation of various high quality educational opportunities and initiatives to support SCI care and nursing rehabilitation. Additionally, there will be a discussion on how to contribute with ideas and wishes for the nursing groups of NOSCOS and ISCOS.
This meeting is a great opportunity to network, share experiences, and help shape the future of ISOC and NOSCO nursing communities. We look forward to seeing you!
Nutrition Professional Network Meeting
We invite all Nordic and International colleagues to the Nutrition Professional Network Meeting, hosted by NoSCoS. This is an opportunity to connect with professionals dedicated to the nutritional care of individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI). We welcome colleagues from various disciplines and professions, including clinical practice, research, education, and municipal health. During this brief meeting, we will share and discuss strategies for addressing the nutritional challenges associated with SCI, such as weight management. We will also highlight key takeaways from the Pre-Conference Study Day on Nutrition.
We encourage you to join the discussion and engage in conversations that may lead to new connections, projects, and collaborations – all before we head to the conference dinner!
Occupational Therapists Professional Group Meeting
The meeting will focus on discussing topics of interest in occupational therapy, such as assessment, support for activity and participation, and identifying knowledge gaps in practice and research to improve occupational therapy interventions for the benefit of persons with spinal cord injury.
Physicians Professional Group Meeting
Follow-up on Bone Health Management after spinal cord injury and future perspectives.
Bone health is a critical aspect of care for patients with spinal cord injury (SCI). The group meeting aims to update physicians with recent knowledge and strategies for effective bone health management in people with SCI and to present a proposal for Nordic guidelines in the field.

- Understanding Bone Health in people with SCI: Explore the physiological changes and challenges that people with SCI face, including increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
- Diagnostic Approaches: Learn about the relevant diagnostic tools and techniques for assessing bone density and identifying early signs of bone deterioration.

Physiotherapists Professional Group Meeting
Wheelchair skills training is a vital component of rehabilitation following a spinal cord injury. Approaches to training vary widely across the globe, influenced by the availability of assistive devices, healthcare systems, terrain and infrastructure, cultural contexts, and more. At this year’s professional meeting for physiotherapists, we will have talks on the internationally diverse approaches to wheelchair skills training. From time-limited courses in metropolitan settings to peer-led programs in rural areas, you will gain valuable insights that may inform and inspire your own practice. In addition to the presentations, there will be opportunities to share your experiences and engage in discussions on the different methods and challenges of wheelchair skills training. Psychologists Professional Group Meeting
The meeting will deal with challenges in the psychologist’s work with patients with SCI. We will exchange experiences as to assessment, therapeutic methods, how to work within an interdisciplinary team, etc.
