The International Spinal Cord Society – ISCoS

The International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) promotes the highest standard of care in the practice of spinal cord injury for men, women and children throughout the world. Our purpose is to study all problems relating to traumatic and non-traumatic lesions of the spinal cord including prevention, basic and clinical research, medical and surgical management, clinical practice, medical and surgical management, education, rehabilitation and social reintegration. Through its medical and multi-disciplinary team of Professionals, ISCoS endeavours to foster education, research and clinical excellence.

The Nordic Spinal Cord Society – NoSCoS

NoSCoS – the Nordic Spinal Cord Society – was founded in 1987 and is an association of professionals in the Nordic countries with special interest in rehabilitation after injuries and diseases of the spinal cord as well as the management of conditions and consequences related to them.

The Nordic Spinal Cord Society is affiliated to the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) and participates in its activities as a regional representative for Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

NoSCoS has held biennial scientific meetings, rotating between the member countries, since 1989. The meetings are interprofessional and multidisciplinary and aim to deliver state of the art updates on advances in spinal cord injury treatment, ranging from prevention, acute treatment and rehabilitation to curative treatment research and long-term care for health and quality of life.
